Judge becomes patron of legal centre
Justice John Dixon of the Supreme Court of Victoria has become the inaugural patron of the North Melbourne Legal Service (NMLS).
Justice Dixon (pictured) was appointed to the position last month.
The NMLS is a not-for-profit community legal centre that promotes access to justice and the health and wellbeing of disadvantaged members of the community through the provision of free and accessible legal assistance, education and policy advocacy.
Justice Dixon was first admitted to practice as a solicitor in Queensland in 1977. He joined the Victorian Bar in 1981, and was appointed silk in 2007.
He was appointed to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2010.
