Tax expert joins Gadens
Gadens has nabbed a tax partner from KPMG.
Peter Poulos (pictured) was with KPMG for 25 years and has been an M&A tax partner at the firm since 1996; he also spent a number of years as chair of KPMG’s Global M&A Tax Practice.
Poulos has advised on the structuring and due diligence of more than 500 domestic and cross-border transactions across all industry sectors, as well as the structuring of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) for social and economic infrastructure projects. His clients have included Australian and international corporates, global and domestic private equity houses, and other sponsors of M&A or infrastructure transactions.
Poulos said he is looking forward to the opportunities this move will create.
“We are delighted with Peter’s decision to join Gadens,” said Grant Scott-Hayward, the firm’s Melbourne CEO.
“He is a highly accomplished and well respected practitioner who has led numerous seminal transactions in Australia.”
Gadens’ corporate advisory & tax group head in Melbourne, Jeremy Smith, said: “Having someone of Peter’s stature and reputation in the marketplace is truly an asset to our firm. He adds significantly to the growing profile and reputation of the Gadens tax practice, as well as our corporate M&A capability and coverage, particularly in the private equity space.”
