Sydney sees majority of HWL promotions
HWL Ebsworth has made five promotions to partner and three to special counsel in its start of financial year round of promotions.
The new partners work across banking & finance, building & construction, commercial, litigation and real estate & projects.
The four Sydney partner appointments were: David Jury (building & construction), Julie Talakovzki (pictured - litigation), Stuart Walton (banking & finance) and Thomas Sterling (real estate & projects).
This is one of the largest-ever single rounds of internal partner promotions for the firm, taking its total number of partners to 158.
The firm has also promoted Pauline Garland (commercial), in the Norwest (northwest Sydney) office, and Jason Leonard (insurance) and Justin Le Blond (workplace relations & safety), in the Sydney office, to the position of special counsel.
HWL Ebsworth managing partner Juan Martinez said: “These appointments clearly demonstrate our commitment to keeping organic growth as a key component of our business strategy.”
“Each of these individuals is an exceptional lawyer who will have an important role to play in HWL Ebsworth’s future growth,” he added.
HWL has been growing lately, nabbing three partners and 14 staff from Herbert Geer for its Sydney office in April, and poaching an IP partner and a franchising expert from other firms in May.
