Minters appoints new chairman
Bruce Cowley will replace Russell Miller as the chairman of Minter Ellison from 1 July, the firm has announced.

Cowley (pictured) was elected to succeed Miller, who held the chairman role for four years.
Cowley has been with Minters for 32 years. He joined as an articled clerk and was appointed a partner in 1987.
He is a senior corporate lawyer and widely recognised for his contribution to corporate law and regulatory reform in Australia.
Cowley said he was honoured to have been chosen by the partnership to be the firm's next chairman:
"I want to acknowledge Russell’s significant contribution to the firm as its chairman, a role he has carried out with distinction over the past four years. He has provided leadership of the Board during a period of transformational change in our industry and a challenging market environment.
"I look forward to building on Russell's good work and the achievements of the past few years, and guiding the firm with the same steady hand."
Miller will return to practise as a strategic advisor to boards and as a member of firm’s Australasian competition group.
Minters lawyers won three Awards at the recent Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards.
