Mohr, whose experience includes practising in Indonesia for five years as a foreign legal counsel, has joined the corporate group as a partner in HWL’s Sydney office.

Mohr assists franchising and retailing clients in a broad range of areas, including drafting franchise agreements, disclosure documents and associated documentation; complex negotiations and relationship issues; assisting with Franchising Code compliance; drafting and reviewing terms and conditions of sale, and supply chain and logistics advice.

She has assisted several Australian brands with their entry into Asian and Middle Eastern markets, including under master franchise, licensing, import and distribution models.

She has significant experience with cross-jurisdictional issues, regulatory approvals and entry into foreign markets in various industries, including manufacturing and retailing.

Juan Martinez, HWL’s managing partner, said: “Rebecca’s impressive experience in [the franchising] area will enable us to pursue further growth opportunities within this sector, including with the numerous international retailers looking to expand into the Australian market.”

This is HWL’s ninth new partner appointment this year; seven of those appointments have been in the Sydney office.

Three partners and 14 staff from Herbert Geer joined HWL in Sydney last month.
