Formerly at DLA Piper, Grosser has advised commonwealth and state government ministers in small business, export and technology matters, and represented Australia at APEC summits and United Nations forums.

Before becoming a lawyer, he had 17 years’ experience in the technology industry, as founder and CEO of an Australian company operating in the government and corporate sectors in Australia and overseas.

Grosser said Holding Redlich impressed him as a firm on a strong growth path which is expanding its capability in key areas of his practice, including projects, infrastructure and IT.

“The partners and staff … have excellent and complementary skill sets and experience to my own,” he said.

“Joining the firm is a great opportunity for me to leverage my industry and business experience in a supportive, collegiate and dynamic environment.”

Cairney joins the firm from Allens Arthur Robinson where she specialised in project development, documentation and negotiation as a senior associate.

Her background is in construction law and she has advised government clients, principals, developers, contractors and operators on a wide range of major infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on water and resources projects.

Cairney has worked in-house for Port of Singapore Authority in Belgium and has completed a number of secondments in Australia. These include as Contracts Manager to the Transcity Joint Venture and as in-house legal counsel to support the feasibility stage of the Wandoan Coal Project for Xstrata Coal Queensland.

Prior to her role at Allens, Cairney was a senior associate at Minter Ellison for three years.
