Evans joined Hicksons in 2010 as a consultant with around 30 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law, competition and consumer protection law, mining and resources law.

He is a professor of law at the University of Notre Dame, where he lectures in corporations law, competition and consumer law, mining and petroleum law and climate change. Early in his career Evans worked in-house for a major oil company and was a partner for 19 years at a large commercial law firm.

He now represents a range of companies in the mining and resources, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

Managing partner John Markos welcomed the recent appointment: “Bernard has embedded well and has become a highly-valued member of our growing team. His skills and knowledge offer enormous diversity and high-quality expertise for our clients."

Evans holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws, and is admitted to practice in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
