Mills Oakley Lawyers has poached a special counsel from the construction, engineering & infrastructure group at Minter Ellison.
Richards commences at Mills Oakley today (10 December). He has more than 17 years’ experience in commercial dispute resolution, including more than 12 years’ experience working in the construction and engineering fields.
His experience includes seven years in the UK, where he worked on several major disputes, including the ‘mega-spat’ over the design and construction of London’s Wembley Stadium.
“This is a significant move for me and a wonderfully exciting opportunity to join a growing firm with a very solid reputation. The firm is making its mark in Australia, acting as an adviser to a growing corporate client base and I hope to contribute to the Mills Oakley success story,” said Richards.
Mills Oakley chief executive John Nerurker said Richards was held in high regard as an advisor to the Australian building, construction, engineering and infrastructure industries.
Richards joins Mills Oakley following the firm’s recent relocation to King George Central in Brisbane CBD.
The firm has now completed moves to larger premises for all three of its offices across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
