Mok specialises in structured and asset finance, particularly aircraft leasing and financing. He has a market-leading reputation as an aviation lawyer and asset finance specialist.
Commenting on the appointment, head of the Minter Ellison finance division, Paul Paxton, said he was delighted to welcome a practitioner of Mok's calibre to the team.
"We have worked across the table from James on a number of transactions. He is well liked by his clients and respected by the market and has an excellent reputation for being technically outstanding and solving problems in a commercial manner,” said Paxton.
Mok will work closely with partner John Elias in a team that advises across derivatives, debt capital markets, securitisation, receivables finance and asset finance.
Educated at the University of Queensland, Mok holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours. He lectures in postgraduate finance law at the University of New South Wales, and has authored articles for the Journal of Banking and Financial Law Practice
