Law firm Jackson McDonald has expanded its partnership to 31 and now employs 200 staff.

Chairman of partners, Graham Goerke, said three of the four new partners have been with the firm since the beginning of their legal careers.

Eva Lin and Karene Primrose have been promoted to partner in the commercial litigation team, while Rob Marando has been appointed a partner in the Insurance team. All three joined Jackson McDonald as articled clerks.

Simon Moen has been recruited to the firm as a partner in the property team.

Moen was previously a senior associate at a national law firm. He moved across from Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

A property specialist, he brings more than 10 years experience in property law and will assist in growing this area of the practice, the firm said.

Jackson McDonald has also announced the appointment of two special counsel.

Dr David Cox has been appointed special counsel for the intellectual property team, and Dorothy Collins returns to Jackson McDonald as special counsel in the corporate and commercial team.

Goerke said while the economic outlook remains uncertain the firm is optimistic it will continue to meet current growth projections.

“As a result, we will continue to promote, seek out and recruit outstanding legal talent to our firm,” he said.
