QUEENSLAND law firm Carter Newell has appointed a new associate to its litigation and dispute resolution team.
Jodi Palmer has experience in building and construction litigation, property litigation, banking recovery and insolvency as well as general litigation and disputes. Palmer recently acted for a bank in the successful reinstatement of a charge to the register of company charges maintained by ASIC, after the charge was inadvertently released. As the release of the charge was discovered after the company had appointed voluntary administrators, the matter was required to be urgently progressed, Carter Newell said this week. Palmer has represented property developers and builders in actions against suppliers, subcontractors, engineers and product manufacturers, including complex multi-party litigations and has also obtained numerous orders for recovery of possession of security properties on behalf of lenders. “[Palmer’s] appointment reflects the growth of our litigation and dispute Resolution practice and adds strength to our team to enable us to focus on achieving results for our clients,” said Carter Newell’s CEO Dr Peter Ellender.
