Queensland firm takes Mallesons partner
Seventeen years in the partnership of one of Australia's preeminent firms and Michael McCafferty has found a new haunt.
SEVENTEEN years in the partnership of one of Australia’s preeminent firms and Michael McCafferty has found a new haunt, in much smaller law firm McCullough Robertson.
The mid-tier firm has signaled it is delighted by the new recruitment, saying McCafferty, a former partner in charge at Mallesons Stephen Jaques’ Brisbane office, will play a pivotal role in the firm’s future growth.
McCafferty himself, who makes the transition in April 2010, works across energy and infrastructure projects, industry reform in Government-owned corporations in particular, telecommunications and major property projects.
McCafferty’s appointment follows that of four senior partners who previously joined the firm from another national law firm.
McCullough Robertson chairman of partners, Brett Heading, said of the recent recruits: “Having five senior partners of national firms join us gives me confidence in our firm’s culture, the depth of our talent and the strength of our growing practice base. There is no better market recognition for a firm than this.”
