Barristers to benefit from new LIV app
The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) has launched a new app that will give users of legal services direct access to the state’s barristers and other legal practitioners.
The app will provide a dedicated referral service and legal services directory containing contact information and details for barristers, solicitors, mediators and accredited specialists.
“It is a convenient and innovative channel for users of legal services,” said Michael Holcroft, LIV president.
The idea behind the app is to meet the needs of the community by providing a portable information resource, he added.
Holcroft revealed the app is not just beneficial for members of the public; it also offers a suite of practical features and resources for lawyers and law students.
“Legal professionals can access the latest legal news and LIV media releases. They can register for LIV events and CPD activities, download legal forms securely online and even purchase law books. The app is a one stop in-pocket legal resource,” he said.
Meanwhile, the LIV has also updated its website with a new design.
Holcroft said the update incorporates “simplified navigation and enhanced information architecture”, so users can now navigate the website and access important information quickly and easily.
The LIV app is compatible with multiple smartphone and android mobile devices. It is available free to download through the iTunes store. For more information go to www.liv.asn.au
