Nand specialises in employment law and has 20 years’ experience in providing legal services in private practice, government and corporate environments. She most recently spent two years as country counsel at Boeing in Australia, where she focused on employment and compliance issues.

“I’m looking forward to being in private practice again and in a familiar environment where I’ll be supporting the firm’s government and corporate clients on their employment law matters,” said Nand.

Nand’s experience in a large global corporate equips her with an understanding of the service and advisory expectations in-house counsel legal teams have of law firms, according to Jesse Webb, Sparke’s national managing partner.

“We were sorry to see Janice go, but we’re thrilled that she chose us when she decided to move back into private practice. Her in-house experience is a great addition to our team and means that she understands the needs of companies looking for external advice,” said Webb.

Nand has also held senior legal and management positions in Federal Government agencies, including the communications portfolio, immigration and in the Australian Government Solicitor’s office. She also held a diplomatic post in London with the Department of Immigration.
