HWL poaches top environment lawyer
HWL Ebsworth has bolstered its Victorian planning and environment team with the hire of Mark Bartley as a partner in its Melbourne planning, environment and government group.
Bartley is an accredited specialist in environmental, planning and local government law and his background includes acting for Commonwealth and state government departments, statutory authorities, local councils and private sector developers.
He is involved in all aspects of property development and regularly appears before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, planning panels and advisory committees.
Mark will join HWL Ebsworth on 22 August 2012.
"Mark has a reputation for being technically outstanding, while attracting exceptional client feedback and loyalty" said Juan Martinez, managing partner of HWL Ebsworth.
Bartley’s experience extends from infrastructure projects to commercial, industrial and residential developments and he offers significant water-related expertise, including advising on major project approvals, legal compliance programs, corporate governance, catchment management and other environmental policies, waste water re-use schemes, water trading and legislative and policy changes.
He was listed in Chambers Global 2011 as one of Australia's leading environment lawyers. Mark's appointment follows that of David Vorchheimer, who recently joined the Melbourne planning, environment and government group from the office of the Premier of Victoria.
