Lynch Meyer grows green group
Environmental and construction law specialist Kathryn Walker has been promoted to partner at Lynch Meyer Lawyers.
“I am excited to be involved in such a dynamic partnership. They are a great group of people who I respect both personally and professionally and I'm looking forward to embarking on this new path with all of its challenges and opportunities,” said Walker.
Walker will head up the firm’s environment, planning and resources practice. She handles large, litigious matters, typically in the fields of environment, planning, building and construction. She advises on issues relating to the carbon tax, site contamination, water resources, defending enforcement proceedings, construction disputes and negotiating with authorities such as the Environment Protection Authority and the Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation.
“Kathryn is an incredibly talented, focused and hard-working lawyer with a real passion for environmental law. She deserves her promotion and we know she will bring a great deal of energy to the partnership,” said chairman of partners Michael Hutton.
Walker is a member of the Environmental Defenders Office, the UDIA Sustainable Development Committee, the Property Council Urban Development Committee, the HIA Planning committee and the UDIA EnviroDevelopment Board (SA). She is also editor of the international section of the National Environmental Law Review.
