Maurice Blackburn has promoted 29 lawyers to new associate, senior associate and special counsel positions.
The promotions were made in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and Canberra in several practice areas: personal injuries; employment and industrial law; class actions and major projects; medical negligence; superannuation and insurance, and commercial and asbestos diseases.
The firm now has class action teams in three cities, with two new lawyers joining Brisbane-based class action specialist lawyer Damian Scattini (formerly of Slater and Gordon); Vavaa Mawuli who was strategic litigation lawyer at the Public Interest Advocacy Centre in Sydney, and Natalie Pala, who worked in commercial litigation at Moray & Agnew. Senior associate Aaron Sellentin also recently joined the firm to manage the Mackay office.
“In these promotions we recognise that leadership is not just about expanding the ranks of principals but providing career pathways for mid-career lawyers, many of whom have been with Maurice Blackburn since they graduated,” said CEO Greg Tucker.
“The firm continues to enjoy really strong organic growth and has opened three new offices over the past 12 months in Caboolture and Ipswich in Queensland and Greensborough in Victoria. Our Perth practice, opened a year ago, is also growing rapidly.”
The promotions took effect yesterday (July 1).
