A UK lawyer has been caught smuggling skunk cannabis, 'meow meow' and electronic goods into jail in his oversized shoes.
According to Whatsonxiamen.com, Brahmnhatt had been making a habit of sneaking items into the cells. It wasn't until a prison officer noticed his suspiciously high number of "legal" visits that a surprise sniffer dog operation was planned.
When the sniffer dog discovered Brahmnhatt's shoe stash, the crooked lawyer of Ilford asked to be taken behind closed doors so that his colleagues could not see the contents of his stockpile and reluctantly slipped off his shoes - which were three sizes too big.
Brahmnhatt had planned to offload the supply to inmate David Sterling who was conveniently wearing a full-length Muslim robe.
Prosecuting lawyer Rufuz D'Cruz said Brahmnhatt had entered into a "crude criminal conspiracy" to smuggle the items into prison with his clients for cash rewards.
The 31-year-old, who worked for Holloway law firm Mordi & Co, was not surprisingly found to have "abused his position of trust" as a lawyer allowed into prison for legal visits.
Over a six-month period in 2009, Brahmnhatt worked "on the outside", slyly trafficking under foot with up to four accomplices, including Sterling.
The four accomplices denied charges of conspiracy to convey articles into prison and were all convicted.
Brahmnhatt reportedly admitted two conspiracies between March and September 2009, each relating to the smuggling of drugs and phones into prison, and a further charge of conveying a mobile phone into Winchester prison.
Brahmnhatt and his partners in crime are all awaiting sentencing.
Folklaw wonders how the prison officers didn't notice big-foot Brahmnhatt who would presumably have quite an odd stride given he was wearing shoes large enough to accommodate three-inch packages containing drugs, electronic scales, mobile phones, earphones and accessories.
