Beer, tunes & golf for thirsty lawyers

The recent International Bar Association [IBA] Annual Conference in Vancouver provided the approximately 5000 lawyers in attendance with a raft of options to while away their time.
Despite the seemingly endless range of seminars to attend, Foklaw's spies reported that a very popular exhibition at the conference was provided by the Toronto based "disclosure research" company, DisclosureNet.
With the catchy tag-line; "You and your firm could really use Disclosure Net... but right now you can just use a break. Join us at our booth for a beer and sink a putt for your chance to win an iPad". The words were given extra oomph as they were written around an extremely large glass of beer, acting like a siren call to lawyers needing a break from the rigors of pressing the flesh or hearing discourse on the finer points of taxation law.
Citing John Daly, Folklaw doesn't necessarily think mixing golf and booze is a good idea, but the chance to compete in a golf tournament, albeit only putting, with the chance to stare down a lawyer from Korea or Uzbekistan with one hand on the putter and the other clutching a beer, sounds like something that we want to be a part of.
Folklaw looks forward to seeing whether the enterprising kids at DisclosureNet will be able to take their booth to next year's IBA Annual Conference in Dubai.
