Ex-lawyer Philip Jenks - who runs a company selling unusual law-themed gifts - has an interesting and very different job offer for Oz lawyers after something more.
The British company, Carbolic Smoke Ball, sells a multitude of appropriate and not-so-appropriate gifts, via a website, for professionals including doctors, accountants, bankers and lawyers and receives a significant portion of business from Australia.
To save his Australian customers from the rather large shipping costs, Jenks would like to open a Carbolic offshoot and figured an ex-lawyer, like him, would be the best person for the job.
The company's website sells quirky presents for lawyers, such as an "I Love Rich Clients" mug or "Trust me, I'm a lawyer" cufflinks, as well as other accessories, books, maps, coasters, clothing and stuff for the office and home.
Other gifts which caught the attention of Folklaw include the "happily divorced" cufflinks; the "shark tie" as a "witty present to predatory lawyers" or the "junior partner" bib, for those lawyers who want to encourage their children at an early age.
