Not only are the partners disappearing at Clayton Utz - but so is the fresh fruit. According to reports by Firm Spy, a Clayton Utz employee is taking more than their fair share of fruit from the fruit box.
And the fruit thief has been getting on the nerves of one particular Clayton Utz lawyer, who has voiced her outrage via a website dedicated to horse-riding (yes, horse riding) - The Eques Forum.
On The Eques Forum site, the disgruntled lawyer explained on the website how the fruit thief operates and her intentions to catch the thief red-handed.
"This morning, I walked in the kitchen and she was there, with her plastic bag empty but open, ready to pile in the fruit...I saw Fruit Thief walking back to her side of the office with the bag full of fruit."
The lawyer pointed out that it would be unethical for a member of the practice group to confront a library staff member, however, the lawyer is determined to catch the thief.
"[The fruit is] delivered usually around 8-8:30am but Fruit Thief doesn't start till 9am. I will make it a priority on Friday morning to hang around the kitchen area and wait for her to turn up," she said.
"I will try and catch her in the act on Friday, if not, then Monday."
Fortunately, a Clayton Utz spokesperson has confirmed with Lawyers Weekly that the two people involved have resolved the issue.
