NATIONAL LAW firm Dibbs Abbott Stillman has reorganised its European desk with the appointment of French lawyer Florence Bourg.

Having worked in a similar role with another national firm, Bourg can assist clients who need Australian representation, aided by both her French language and cultural skills, and her legal experience.

Following the establishment of the European desk in 2002, Dibbs has created specialist services for clients with German, English, Benelux and Spanish interests. With the addition of the French desk, the firm is able to service clients from French-speaking nations as well as Australian clients doing business in France or the South Pacific.

“To properly cover the legal and cultural differences between two different markets, you need someone who is a native speaker of the language,” head of the European desk, Wolfgang Babeck, said.

“We see [Bourg] providing invaluable advice and assistance to clients with interests inbound to Australia and outbound to France and French-speaking Pacific countries,” he said.
