LAW FIRM DLA Phillips Fox has appointed Peter Faludi as special counsel in Sydney, along with new partner John Tuck in the workplace relations and employment (WRE) group for Melbourne.
Having previously worked both in private practice and in-house, Faludi was at one time a partner of a number of professional services firms including Rosenblum & Partners, Blake Dawson Waldron and Ernst & Young.
“Our global alliance with DLA Piper provides us with the opportunity to assist offshore fund managers and private equity funds in respect of the funding of their Australian investments,” Faludi said. “We’re also uniquely positioned to assist Australian fund managers and financial institutions in their offshore activities, in a seamless and efficient manner.”
In addition to his commerce and law degrees, Faludi has a Master of Laws, and a diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia.
Previously a partner at Freehills, new partner Tuck has extensive experience in all aspects of workplace relations and employment, particularly industrial relations, litigation in any jurisdiction, employment and advocacy. He has represented many prominent Australian companies as well as multinationals during his career.
“As part of a global legal services organisation, DLA Phillips Fox can offer its clients access to knowledge and expertise on workplace relations and employment issues from around the world,” Tuck said. “I am excited at the prospect of working with a team that has the backing of a global law firm such as DLA Piper.”
