NEW ASSOCIATE Gerard Timbs has been appointed to the planning and environment group at McInnes Wilson Lawyers.

Timbs will provide town planning and environment legal services to developers, local government, state agencies and submitters. He has been involved in major residential, retail and commercial projects as well as conducting Planning and Environment Court litigation.

He also has extensive experience in providing advice and conducting proceedings in respect of investigation and enforcement of breaches of environmental, planning and local law offences.

“[Timbs’] experience within planning and environmental law will be an asset to McInnes Wilson’s newest practice area,” managing partner Paul Tully said. “His hands-on experience and knowledge of town planning for local government will no doubt be a great advantage for our clients.”

Timbs began his professional career in NSW local government as a town planner and development enforcement officer. In 2004, he moved to Queensland when he obtained a position with Corrs Chambers Westgarth before transferring to DLA Phillips Fox.

Timbs is also a member of the Queensland Law Society, the Planning Institute of Australia, and the Queensland Environmental Law Association.
