ADELAIDE-BASED FIRM Norman Waterhouse Lawyers has appointed three new lawyersto its local government services division.
Kazis told Lawyers Weekly that the role at Norman Waterhouse appealed to him “because of the nature of the work and also the nature of the firm and the people.”
Comparing private practice to government work, Kazis said: “It’s a much more stable sort of workflow, without the peaks and troughs of minor crisis to minor crisis, but it’s also dealing with problems on a more personal level rather than on a slightly detached policy-based level, it’s dealing with real issues and real problems in people’s workplaces.
Marc Duncan joins Norman Waterhouse as a senior associate in the planning and environment group. He specialises in urban and regional planning, environment, property, building and vegetation law. He previously worked in the system improvement/legislation directorate of Planning SA where he completed a secondment to the Planning and Development Review.
Nick Llewellyn-Jones joins as an associate in the firm’s employment and industrial relations team. He has extensive experience in industrial litigation and with issues concerning employee relations in a wide range of industries.
