NEW ZEALAND firm Chapman Tripp has appointed four new senior solicitors across a broad range of practice areas.

Nicki Carter and Todd Spencer have joined the firm’s corporate and commercial practice. Carter has returned to the firm’s Christchurch office after having spent the last five years in London. During this time, she worked as in-house counsel for multinational telecommunications operator, T-Mobile, and as a solicitor at UK firm Bevan Brittan, where she focused on large-scale property projects.

Spencer has joined the firm’s Wellington office from Contact Energy, where he was involved in advising on wind, geothermal and gas-fired power station developments. Spencer specialises in advising energy and infrastructure clients.

Karen Riddle has joined the firm’s Auckland office as a senior solicitor in the finance team. Riddle is also returning to the firm from after two years working at Ashurst LLP in London. Riddle will be focusing on advising clients on acquisition finance and general corporate finance.

Josine Wynberg has joined the firm’s dispute resolution practice in Wellington. Wynberg, a specialist in insurance law and commercial litigation, has recently relocated to New Zealand from Darwin. In Darwin, she worked at Cridlands Lawyers, advising on construction and insurance related disputes and advising insurers and employers on their obligations under the Work Health Act.
