MELBOURNE FIRM Hall & Wilcox will be moving into the new financial year this year will two new partners, two new special counsel and six new senior associates.
Also being promoted to partner is Ben Hamilton, the leader of the firm’s intellectual property & technology and a member of its competition & trade practices team. Hamilton’s experience includes trade mark matters, intellectual property commercialisation, copyright advice, trade practices law advice and compliance and IT agreements and disputes.
Emma Woolley has been promoted to special counsel in the firm’s family business and wealth management practice. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Woolley worked for more than ten years at a major law firm in Jersey in the Channel Islands. She focuses on advising family businesses and high net worth individuals on succession planning, asset protection, trusts and business structures and family governance.
Also being promoted to special counsel is Ed Paton, a member of the firm’s corporate and commercial and family business & wealth management practices. Paton first joined the firm in 2002 and has experience in large mergers and acquisitions matters, private equity and venture capital, listed company advice and capital raisings, as well as private mergers and acquisitions and family business matters.
