BRISBANE-BASED firm Cooper Grace Ward has bolstered its workplace relations and insurance expertise with the recent appointment of a new partner and new special counsel.
Heinz Lepahe, an employment and workplace relations specialist, has joined the firm’s commercial workgroup as a partner. He has 16 years’ experience providing strategic advice and representations in a range of industrial relations matters. He has worked with big corporations including Boral, Tyco International and Suncorp, and has considerable advocacy experience, having appeared in various courts, industrial relations commissions and tribunals.
Brady Cockburn joins the firm’s insurance law team as a special counsel, bringing with him more than 11 years’ experience in personal injuries litigation. This includes claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, product liability, criminal compensation and medical negligence. Cockburn was previously a partner at Brisbane firm Bennett & Philp, and has worked with the State Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
