Gilchrist Connell appoints second principal in a week
National law firm Gilchrist Connell has announced the promotion of one of its own to the position of principal.
Marini Mann has worked at the firm’s Melbourne office as a special counsel since commencing at the firm in 2015. Her new appointment will commence 1 January next year, recognising “her exceptional professionalism and leadership,” according to a Gilchrist Connell statement.
She is a finalist in the 2018 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards and is “enormously deserving of her promotion,” according to Gilchrist Connell’s managing principal Richard Wood, who said Ms Mann has “achieved that rare balance of excellent technical skills, empathy, efficiency and seeking better paths to early and effective outcomes.”
“She is a natural leader and very generous with her time and expertise in volunteering with the Victorian Claims Discussion Group,” Mr Wood continued, noting her tireless mentoring and nurturing “of junior legal staff into rising stars.”
It comes less than a week after Philip Duffy was welcomed to the firm’s Melbourne office, bolstering its workplace practice.
