The firm has announced Dr Gary Rumble's appointment, bringing to his new role vast experience in advising government on complex matters.

Throughout his career he has worked with government on “litigation-proof” decision-making and on defending decisions that are being challenged. On top of this, he has also advised private sector clients on dealings with government and on a range of regulatory matters.

His brings to Keypoint particular expertise in administrative law, liability issues for government agencies, legislation design, drafting of instruments and drafting instructions, and conducting inquiries.

Prior to joining Keypoint, Dr Rumble held senior positions in government, including the chief counsel role with the Commonwealth Department of Human Services.

He has also been a partner with Blakes (now Ashurst) and DLA Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper).

Dr Rumble said he is excited about his new career path at Keypoint.

“I was attracted by Keypoint Law's claim of ‘emphasis on personal service by senior lawyers, with flexible offerings and low overheads’. I have had a good look behind the scenes. I am confident that Keypoint Law will give me greater flexibility in working with clients to suit their needs than traditional law firms can deliver,” Dr Rumble said.

“I am excited by this opportunity.”
