Minters partner joins Hall & Wilcox
Hall & Wilcox has poached a former MinterEllison partner to join its Sydney office.
The Australian firm has bolstered its corporate and commercial team by appointing partner Christopher Brown.
Throughout his career, Mr Brown has advised some of the country’s largest financial institutions on M&A matters, fundraising, and general corporate/commercial matters. He also has experience in Asian in-bound investment, notably involving Japanese companies.
“Chris is a talented lawyer with wide experience across business law, M&A and financial services transactions in Australia, the UK and Europe,” said Hall & Wilcox corporate and commercial section leader, John Hutchinson.
“[He] is a pragmatic, solutions-focused lawyer with vast experience acting for clients locally, in the region and internationally.
“He will be a great asset for our firm’s national insurance and financial services industry focus.”
Commenting on his new role, Mr Brown said that a major attraction was the shared values and vision at Hall & Wilcox.
"I am delighted to be joining Hall & Wilcox with its commitment to smarter law and its clear focus on service delivery,” he said.
“The firm is poised to take advantage of growth opportunities in the local Sydney market, nationally and in the region.”
Mr Brown’s appointment comes after Hall & Wilcox appointed partner Jacqui Barrett last September.
