Brian Jackson will take to his new role in the firm’s Perth office, where he will focus on the specialist areas of employee restraints, confidentiality and executive employment issues.

Throughout his career, Mr Jackson has successfully acted for high-profile employers in the hard rock mining, oil and gas, insurance, financial services and agribusiness sectors.

He has also advised on industrial strategy in respect to enterprise bargaining and industrial disputes on many of Western Australia’s major resources, construction and infrastructure projects.

Kathy Reid, head of MinterEllison's HR and IR practice in Perth, said Mr Jackson will add high-calibre credentials to the team.

"Since launching our practice in Perth just over six months ago, our HR and IR team has continued to grow and we now have one of the largest employment and safety practices in Western Australia,” she said.

"We are gaining a highly experienced practitioner in Brian. His experience, particularly in relation to executive employment, is a key differentiator for our team and complements our expansion into the executive remuneration consulting space."

Mr Jackson said he looks forward to joining MinterEllison and helping to drive the growth of the HR and IR practice in WA.

"The team here is building a pre-eminent reputation in a highly competitive market," he said.

"MinterEllison's strong corporate and HR and IR capability is a natural fit with my focus on the employment issues relating to corporate activity."
