Vanessa Andersen (pictured) will take to Maddocks’ employment, safety and people team, based in Sydney, bringing with her extensive experience advising on a range of administrative and employment law matters.

Ms Andersen has worked on general advisory matters, discrimination, employment litigation, industrial relations and executive employment matters.

She has also conducted training for employers and managers on workplace issues, such as bullying and harassment and management of performance and conduct issues.

Ms Andersen joins from Henry Davis York, where she was employed in the firm’s workplace and safety group. She commenced her legal career at MinterEllison.

The Sydney head of Maddocks’ employment, safety and people team, Bruce Heddle, said Ms Andersen’s appointment adds further quality and depth to the team.

“Vanessa is an outstanding lawyer who brings great experience to Maddocks,” Mr Heddle said.

“Her employment law experience, acting for clients in both the public and private sectors, complements our existing client base, sector strategy and national practice.

“Vanessa’s pragmatic approach and focus on achieving the best possible outcome for clients also fits perfectly with the way we interact with clients, which is based on teaming and collaboration.”

Commenting on her new role, Ms Andersen said: “I am very pleased to be starting a new adventure at Maddocks.

“I am excited that the success of the employment team, and the strength of its relationships with clients, is central to the firm’s strategy,” she said.
