McCabes Lawyers welcomes new principal
McCabes Lawyers Newcastle has announced the appointment of a new principal.

Elizabeth McDonald (pictured) has taken up the role, having worked with the firm since 2012.
“It is a really interesting time to be working in property in the Hunter region,” Ms McDonald said.
“Our clients are genuinely excited about the revitalisation of the Newcastle CBD and they are watching the property market in the Hunter Valley very closely.
“We are regularly advising on agricultural land transactions and rural land development.”
Ms McDonald said her passion for property law is matched only by her dedication to fostering the next generation of lawyers in Newcastle and contributing to the community in which she grew up.
“The firm has a great relationship with the University of Newcastle. We are very committed to ensuring regional students can access excellent training, high quality legal work and interesting career opportunities without leaving the Hunter,” she said.
“Working with the community is a priority for my team.
“I have worked with NGOs across Australia for over ten years so I have a good feel for how we can add value to organisations that are supporting and developing our communities.”
McCabes Newcastle managing principal Richard Suters welcomed the principal appointment of Ms McDonald.
“Elizabeth is an exceptional lawyer. She works incredibly hard and exemplifies our culture and focus on delivering specialist legal solutions for our clients,” he said.
“We are not surprised that she has built a team of young, enthusiastic and talented people around her.”

Emma Musgrave (née Ryan) is the managing editor, professional services at Momentum Media.
Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, including five years spent as the editor of the company's legal brand - Lawyers Weekly. Throughout her time at Momentum, she has been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia. In addition, she has produced exclusive multimedia and event content related to the company's respective brands and audiences.
Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of NSW, before taking on a radio journalist role at Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland.
She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University.
