Ewan Robertson has left Piper Alderman to join the Pinsent Masons partnership in Melbourne.

The infrastructure specialist has over 20 years’ experience working in Australia and the UK, advising clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He has advised on transaction and project work, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures.

Mr Robertson was a partner at Piper Alderman in Melbourne for over three years and was previously a long-serving partner for Dundas & Wilson.

Pinsent Masons Australian head David Rennick said Mr Robertson’s appointment was part of the firm’s rapid expansion of “one of the most experienced” advisory teams in the domestic infrastructure market.

“Ewan’s expertise will broaden our corporate offering and strengthen our M&A capabilities. His commercial knowledge across the infrastructure sectors will help us to continue to provide top-quality service for our clients, and demonstrates our commitment to becoming international market leaders in our global sectors,” Mr Rennick said.

Pinsent Masons launched in Melbourne and Sydney last year. In April, the firm announced the expansion of its Australian practice with more hires, including former White & Case infrastructure specialist Margaret Cole. Former Allens partner Anthony Arrow also joined the team.
