Clifford Chance has announced that Jessica Davies has joined its energy and resources practice as counsel from Allen & Overy, where she was a senior associate for five years.

Ms Davies’ resume includes working with clients in Australia, the US, the UK, Asia and Africa. She specialises in the mining, oil and gas sectors, with a particular focus on acquisitions, disposals, new projects, joint ventures, supply, transport, infrastructure and operational arrangements.

“We are delighted to have Jessica join the team,” said Jon Carson, senior partner in the Clifford Chance energy and resources practice.

“She will further enhance our reputation for providing best-in-class domestic and international expertise in this market.”

Ms Davies said the current state of play in the energy and resources sector will provide her with plenty of opportunities in her new role.

“The landscape across the energy and resources industry continues to change,” she said.

“This brings significant challenges for corporates, investment funds and governments to adapt and capture opportunities.

“I’m pleased to join Clifford Chance, forming part of a market-leading team that is at the forefront of helping clients to navigate the complexities of the industry.”

Ms Davies’ appointment comes after Clifford Chance announced the appointment of Australian partners Angela Pearsall, Jenni Hill and Richard Gordon.

These appointments bring Clifford Chance up to 16 partners in its Australian operations.
