Cook Legal has announced the appointment of consultant solicitor Stephanie Ewart to its team, as of 1 August 2016.

Ms Ewart, who has over 20 years’ experience in domestic violence and family law, was most recently employed as the principal solicitor of Women’s Legal Service Queensland.

Previously she worked for five years with Caxton Legal Centre, heading up the family law duty lawyer service at the family law courts.

Ms Ewart has experience in both court advocacy and understanding the complexities of domestic violence.

Cook Legal was established by another former principal solicitor of Women’s Legal Service Queensland, Kara Cook, in late 2015 to target domestic violence work.

In April this year, Cook Legal also appointed consultant solicitor Tamara de Kretser who, like Ms Cook and Ms Ewart, is a former principal solicitor of the Women's Legal Service Queensland.
