Keypoint Law has welcomed Philip Diviny (pictured) as a partner of the firm. He joins the NewLaw firm from K&L Gates, where he was a partner for over 15 years.

Mr Diviny has a broad-based tax advisory and tax controversy practice, where he covers matters affecting both federal and state taxes. His expertise has seen him work across a number of different industries, including shipping, chemicals, property and health care.

Mr Diviny has extensive experience in tax-related insolvency issues and in tax-related professional negligence matters.

His work includes representing clients involved in ATO audits, acting in Federal Court and Full Federal Court litigation against the ATO, and advising on all tax aspects of corporate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, restructures and demergers.

Mr Diviny is also a member of the advisory panel to the Board of Taxation.

Keypoint Law CEO Warren Kalinko welcomed Mr Diviny’s appointment, saying he brings “first-class expertise” to the firm.

“His extensive transactional experience as well as his skill in tax litigation, at both federal and state levels, enables Keypoint to provide high-quality tax advice to our clients,” he said.

“We’re delighted that Philip has joined the firm.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Diviny said he is looking forward to developing his skills as the NewLaw firm grows over time.

“I am excited to join Keypoint,” he said.

“Its value proposition and service offering to clients is compelling and I look forward to being part of its future growth.”
