New competition partner for K&L Gates
Ayman Guirguis has left his role leading a national firm's competition and regulatory group to join the ranks of global law firm K&L Gates in its Sydney office.
Mr Guirguis (pictured) was previously the head of Corrs Chambers Westgarth's competition and regulatory group.
He has previously worked at the ACCC as a director of the mergers branch and was a partner at Blake Dawson (now Ashurst Australia).
K&L Gates managing partner (Australia) Nick Nichola said Mr Guirguis was “highly regarded in the industry”.
“We are very pleased to welcome Ayman to the partnership. He is consistently listed by both clients and peers as one of Australia’s leading policy and regulatory lawyers,” Mr Nichola said.
K&L Gates represents multinational corporations, growth and middle-market companies, capital markets participants and entrepreneurs in every major industry group. Worldwide, the firm employs approximately 2,000 lawyers.
Mr Guirguis's appointment follows the recent addition of former Holding Redlich real estate partner Chris Willie, as well as corporate and transactional partners Nick Humphrey, Hal Lloyd and Dan Atkin, who left Sparke Helmore earlier this year.
