Sparke Helmore appoints new managing partner
National managing partner at Sparke Helmore Lawyers Jesse Webb is stepping down after more than six years to return to practice insurance law.
Mr Webb will be replaced by Phillip Salem (pictured), the head of the national government commercial team, on 1 March 2016.
“During my time in this role, the firm has grown and prospered in difficult market conditions. I am proud of everything we have achieved.”
During Mr Webb’s term, the firm’s annual revenue increased by 22 per cent and a number of partners joined the firm. Sparke Helmore now has 600 staff across nine Australian offices.
“While it’s been an honour to lead the firm, I’m looking forward to practising in the area of state workers’ compensation again,” he said.
Mr Salem became a member of the firm’s board in December 2014 and was also the firm’s chairman from 2009 to 2012.
“As the incoming national managing partner, I plan to build on the firm’s successes by maintaining a focus on growth and the pursuit of our strategy,” he said.
“I look forward to working alongside Jesse during the next few months to ensure a seamless transition.”
