Michael Harrison will be based in the firm’s Sydney office, while Richard Guit will join the Perth team. Both will start at the firm in November.
Mr Guit specialises in infrastructure transactions, including development, operation and divestment.
Ashurst global head of resources Mark Elsey said energy and resources were areas of “key strategic focus for the firm”.
“We are confident that Michael and Richard will play a key role in developing the practice and helping us to capitalise on all opportunities," said Geoff Gishubl, the global co-head of Ashurst's corporate division.
Earlier this month, Minter Ellison gained an insurance specialist who was previously at Colin Biggers & Paisley, while lawyer Karl Blake left Maddocks for Minter Ellison's Melbourne office in September.
