Senior lawyers spark defection
Two partners and two senior associates have left K&L Gates for a rival firm.
Sparke Helmore’s workplace team gained Penny Stevens (pictured right) and Nicole Fauvrelle (pictured below) as partners.
Ms Fauvrelle has 15 years’ experience, including a stint as a senior lawyer with Worksafe Victoria.
Sparke’s workplace national practice group leader Matthew Smith welcomed the two new partners to the team.
"Together, they bring a wealth of expertise in work health and safety that will add to our Melbourne team’s strong existing coverage and will work closely with our national team in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle, Perth and Sydney," Mr Smith said.
Senior associates Sam Jackson and Gina Carosi also left KL Gates for Sparkes.
“Sam and Gina have extensive experience acting for clients in a variety of industries across the occupational health and safety field,” the statement from Sparkes said.
The departures follow partner Jane Owen’s move from K&L Gates to Bird & Bird in March.
Earlier in the year, K&L Gates recruited senior Henry Davis York partner Jason Opperman to its Sydney finance practice.
