Sarah Morton-Ramwell has managed Reed Smith’s pro bono and corporate responsibility projects for Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA) for the past five years. In that period Reed Smith EMEA recorded its best pro bono and CSR results to date.

The London office, for example, recorded 10,654 hours on pro bono work in 2013, up from 9,818 in 2012.

Ms Morton-Ramwell focused on improving access to justice, which included working and partnering with clients to develop their in-house pro bono programs as well as their involvement in pro bono matters and clinics.

Before joining Reed Smith, Ms Morton-Ramwell was a lawyer at Freshfields in London.

She was named Qantas Australian Woman of the Year in the UK 2014.

Commenting on the appointment, Ms Morton-Ramwell said: “Pro bono legal practice areas are rapidly growing in major international law firms and there is far more we can all achieve.”
