National litigation support provider LitSupport has been acquired by The Information Management Group (TIMG).

TIMG is the subsidiary of New Zealand-listed firm Freightways and will take a 100 per cent shareholding in the previously Australian-owned company.

LitSupport specialises in producing documents with the level of speed, accuracy and confidentiality required by law firms.

The company operates a range of electronic and physical evidence management services and bureau services for firms across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

TIMG services 400 of the top 1,000 Australian companies and has offices in every capital city in the country. The firm provides information management services including cloud back-up services, records management and data vault storage.

Under TIMG, LitSupport will expand its service offering and geographic coverage, making use of the group’s clout in cloud-based data management and business process outsourcing solutions.

LitSupport managing director Brad Gabriel (pictured) commented on the acquisition, saying, “It’s vital to stay at the forefront of a rapidly-changing industry … This partnership will lead to better value and reduced risk for our clients."

“More and more law firms are demanding more cost-effective, efficient and secure ways of dealing with the mountains of information during the pre-trial process,” he added.

Gabriel will stay on as head of the company along with founder and directors Val Pitt and Craig Pitt. The company will not change its pricing structure as a result of the acquisition.
