TIME IS running out for law firms and lawyers interested in submitting an entry for the 2006 Fuji Xerox Australian Law Awards, with nominations closing on 22 September.

After extensive consultation with Australia’s legal profession, the Awards in 2006 have adopted an all-new methodology. The Fuji Xerox Australian Law Awards 2006 are being conducted using a self-nomination submission-based methodology. Submissions are made online using a predetermined form (which will ensure ease of comparison for the judges).

Each Award category will have 4 criteria which nominees are required to address section by section, There is also an ‘Additional relevant information’ section in which nominees can include any data not already covered as to why they should win that award category.

As in previous years, the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association has endorsed the Awards and will be providing the bulk of the specialist awards judges. This year, however, the identity of the judges will be kept anonymous at the request of a majority of law firms, which indicated that the anonymity would stop judges from being lobbied during the process.
