Lawyer writes play, uncovers legal world
A Bondi-based lawyer has written a play about the legal world he has worked in for many years.
In the ilk of the based-on-real-life novel Hell has Harbour Views, the play is based on the world of real-life solicitor Tony Laumberg.
The play, Undercover Lawyer, covers time billing, ASIO, undercover agents and wives.
A vintage stand-up comedian, Laumberg has created character Henry Crowley, a pompous CBD lawyer, who is convinced by young ASIO agent, Pamela Goodbody, to spy on his neighbour, a gifted animal psychic.
ASIO suspects Goodbody of being a double agent and enlists his own wife, Margaret, to spy on him. Crowley goes deep undercover to unearth evidence that his neighbour is a foreign spy.
The play, which will be showing at the Tap Gallery in Darlinghurst, Sydney, from 6Augut this year, stars Nastassja Djalog, Daniel Felkai, Mark McCann, Tricia Youlden. The play is directed by Richard Cotter
