Minters sends climate expert to Copenhagen

MINTER Ellison is sending one of its lawyers to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
Cheryl Edwardes, a special counsel at Minters and former WA Environment Minister, will provide regular feedback to key Minter Ellison clients and to local business leaders throughout the conference.
She will offer detailed post conference reports to clients in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to assist them with forward planning.
Edwardes said her attendance at COP 15 reinforces the firm as an active participant in climate change leadership.
"We need to be proactive about preparing ourselves with the technical skills and capabilities necessary to address climate change issues at all levels of government, in industry and in big and small business," she said.
"With an understanding of carbon emissions and other climate change issues being faced across the state and the nation, attending the conference gives us the chance to see what world leaders and industry are saying and doing."
Edwardes also attended COP 9 in Bonn as WA Minister for the Environment, representing all States and Territories of Australia together with Robert Hill, the then Federal Minister for the Environment, representing Australia.
