IN its latest strategy to beat back the spectre of recession, leading UK-based law firm Cobbetts has expanded its part-time and flexible working arrangements.
On top of the four-day work week, the firm has implemented measures such as job sharing, extended holidays and lower salaries in a bid to retain staff in the global downturn.
The firm has weathered three redundancy rounds, with the latest lay-offs in October, and a 2009 fiscal year revenue loss of 16 per cent.
Managing partner Michael Shaw said the measures would “ensure that our ongoing expenditure is balanced against revenue until transaction levels start to increase.”
