THE HONOURABLE Christopher Reginald Wright QC’s part-time role as deputy president of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal has been extended.
Wright was first appointed to the tribunal in February 2001. Before that time he was a judge of the Supreme Court of Tasmania from 1986 to 2000, solicitor-general of Tasmania from 1984 to 1986, and chairman of the retirement benefits fund investment trust between 1984 and 1986.
As well as these past roles, Wright was also appointed to the Social Security Appeals Tribunal from 1979 to 1983, and the Tenancy Law Review Committee in Tasmania in 1979. Between 1977 and 1979 he was the president of the Bar Association of Tasmania, and was appointed to the Tasmanian Police Review Board in 2004.
After graduating from a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania, Wright went on to be appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1984.
