The Law Institute of Victoria and Victorian Women Lawyers will next week hold a leadership lunch to celebrate Victorian Women Lawyers.
White Ribbon Day, which officially takes place on 25 November, is the symbol of the international day for the elimination of violence against women.
Aly is a lecturer in politics at Monash University and works within the university's Global Terrorism Research Centre. Prior to that, he was a commercial lawyer and a board member of the Islamic Council of Victoria. In 2005, Aly was made the White Ribbon Day ambassador for the United Nations' international day for the elimination of violence against women.
De Brito is a Sydney-born author and writer for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age who also writes TV scripts and the popular blog All Men Are Liars.
Felicity Hampel SC is a prominent human rights lawyer and, since 2005, judge of the County Court of Victoria. She began work as a barrister in 1981, and has served as Adjunct Professor of Law at Monash University and Victorian Law Reform Commissioner.
